Gilberto D. Soto, a virtuoso guitarist and esteemed educator, embarked on his musical journey at the age of twelve, mastering the guitar as his instrument of choice. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Education from Universidad Autónoma del Noreste, Dr. Soto's passion for music led him to Texas, where he pursued further studies at Abilene Christian University. Graduating with honors (Cum Laude) in 1986, he earned a second bachelor’s degree in Music.

His pursuit of excellence in music continued as Dr. Soto received a full fellowship from the University of Southern Mississippi. Here, he earned his master’s degree in Music Performance in 1988 and went on to achieve his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Music Education in 1995..

With a rich history as an educator, Dr. Soto began teaching music classes at the young age of nineteen. Throughout his career, he has directed music ensembles spanning both traditional and classical genres. His teaching experience has left a mark on institutions like Monterrey Tech, Universidad Autónoma del Noreste, University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and Hinds Community College.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Soto has made impactful contributions on the global stage. His expertise has been shared through presentations at conferences in diverse locations, including Dubai, Spain, and various other countries. He has seamlessly integrated his passion for music with dedicated advocacy for bilingual education, using his expertise to harmonize the realms of melody and language learning.
